Welcome to Ms. Catherine's FIRST grade classroom.

I am very excited about the upcoming year. I am currently in my third year of teaching and look forward to many more years to come. I try to make each day memorable while teaching new skills along the way.

What will we learn this year?
 
We will be implementing Common Core Standards in our first grade classrooms. Higher level thinking and cooperative groups are the focus and base for all lesson plans.

In reading we will be identifying story parts, main idea, and sequencing major events.
 
Math instruction will focus on addition and number break aparts/partners.
 

REMINDERS:

Please be sure to send all materials/school supplies to school as soon as possible.

Please remember to send a snack with your child each day.

Homework is sent home on Tuesday and returned completed on Friday.

All graded work will be returned in the graded folders on Monday.
