Music and Creative Dramatics is an important part of our lives at AES!  We sing, move, play instruments and musical games, study theory and composers, and generally have FUN!!  We also enjoy performing in our programs during the year.  AES feels the music and swings to the beat!!

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

ABOUT THE 2009 CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

First Grade Parents:  Your children will be wearing pjs or nighttime wear in the Christmas program this year.  Plan now for this holiday event.

Second Grade Parents: Your children should choose something that would have been worn by teenagers in the fifties--sock hop type clothes such as poodle skirts or rolled up jeans with turned down socks, scarf in hair, etc.  These are some suggestions. 

Third Grade Parents:  Your child can choose and wear whatever would go with a character such as:  shepherd, animal that might have been present at the nativity, angel, king, etc.  You are asked to submit your child's character to his/her teacher for approval. 

Fourth Grade Parents:  Your child will need a white shirt--preferably long sleeved with a collar and dark pants.  Cummerbunds and bow ties are being made to complete the outfit  for both boys and girls.

FOURTH GRADERS LEARN TO PLAY RECORDERS 

This unit teaches the children to apply their music reading skills to an instrument in class and helps to prepare them for playing in the band. We will begin our study this year after Christmas because we are involved in preparing for the Christmas program this semester. Books will be available to purchase for $5 for those interested in having a copy to take home for practice and this purchase is optional.  A book will be provided for work in the classroom.

 AT AES GRADES 1 THROUGH 4 PRESENT A CHRISTMAS EXTRAVAGANZA TO THE SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY
EACH CHRISTMAS

 The program begins our holiday season with music and excitement and fun!  This year's program will be on Thursday, December 3 at 6:30 p.m.

FIFTH GRADERS PRESENT A MUSICAL TRIBUTE HONORING OUR VETERANS AND SOLDIERS EACH VETERANS DAY. .  THIS YEAR THE PRGRAM WILL ONCE AGAIN BE ON NOVEMBER  11, VETERANS DAY.
