Dr. Brenda Armstrong, Principal

Thank you for visiting my website. I hope that you will find this webpage both enjoyable and informative. My hope is to more clearly open the doors of communication to our students, parents, and community. I feel that proper communication between the administration, teachers, parents, and students can not only inform; but bridge dissension and minimize potential conflicts of the organization. My personal goals are to treat every child in a manner to which they can excel. I am of the opinion that educational opportunities should be provided so each child will not only recognize his/her potential, but will be able to reach personal goals. I believe in protecting the wellbeing of our students, and I place their care as my foremost objective. I also feel a responsibility towards the teachers and staff members. I enjoy helping teachers succeed, whether it be in classroom management, academic advancement, or in professional educational goals. I believe the staff should be treated with respect and as professionals. In addition, I believe every person regardless of age should be rewarded publicly and corrected privately. I believe in public education, because I believe that through public education all children are given the opportunity to learn. Furthermore, through legislature, the teaching profession will be monitored by “check and balance systems,” to ensure equality and effectiveness. I invite you to please take this time to explore your teacher(s) webpage. By visiting these sites frequently and systematically, you will gain further insight into the operations of Selmer Middle School. If ever a problem arises, please feel confident to visit me at the office or phone 645-7977. You and your child are important to me. Brenda Armstrong, Ph.D. Principal
