Special Areas of Concern

Cell Phones

1st violation - an office referral is recorded, the phone is taken up and a parent can pike up the phone after school.

2nd violation - phone will be kept in the office for 5 days, then returned to student.

3rd violation - school suspension

Dress Code

An office referral is given when the dress code is broken.  Violation must be corrected before the student may return to class.  If the student does not have proper attire, they will be issued something to wear until the school day is over.  Continued violations will lead to suspension.

Late Check-in to School

Students that are not in class by 8:00 am must check in through the office.  Three late check-ins are allowed each semester without penalty.  Attempts will be made to call a parent regarding each late check-in.  Only doctor, dentist, funeral or court statements will be excused.  Beginning with the 4th late check-in, disciplinary measures will be taken.

Harrassment, Bullying or Intimidation

Such actions are never appropriate.  Any occurrence of these actions are to be reported to the nearest AHS staff member immediately for corrective measures.

Knives

The possession of knives is prohibited.  If a student is in possession of a knife, it will be confiscated until the end of the school year.  Knives are NOT required for any class.

Displays of Affection

Refrain from public displays of affection at school.  This serves as the warning to each student.  Such behaviors will result in disciplinary actions being taken with both parties involved.
