About AJSHS |
The 2009-2010 school year is well underway. At AHS, we have experienced a great school opening for our 686 students. This is the largest enrollment in the history of the school. Although some may claim the growth is due to increasing numbers of out-of-system students, the preliminary enrollment data suggest a decline the number of non-McNairy County residents from previous years. It is undeniable that our area is experiencing growth. While our present facility has served us well over the past 27 school years, there is a tremendous need for additional space to adequately serve our children. Therefore, I urge you to support efforts to keep our children's future bright by providing adequate resources and space for their education as opportunities present themselves to you. Adamsville Jr/Sr High School has a rich tradition of excellence. The late T.E. Chisholm, former AHS principal, held to the credo, "Let's leave our school better than we found it." This philosophy has been adopted by each successive administrator at AHS. The idea supported by Mr. Chisholm transcends the facility we recognize as AHS, although it naturally encompasses it. By striving to meet the three "A's" of Adamsville Jr/Sr High School, students will certainly leave our institution of learning better prepared to face the challenges of the future. These "A's" are attendance, academics and attitude. It is our goal to assist students in developing to their greatest potential in each of these areas. With this accomplished, AHS will continue its mission of providing a quality education for the young people of this area.
