Welcome to another fabulous year at Michie Elementary School.  A new face can be found in the office this year. ..Mrs. Carolyn Giesler has joined the administrative team.  Stop in and meet her when you can. Michie teachers spent many days this summer participating in professional development activities in order to better meet the needs of your child(ren). They are looking forward to a great year and hope you are too. By the way, the TCAP scores  have been released, and we are pleased to say that our scores were very good.  Way to go, Michie students and teachers.

Student pick-up and drop-off will be the same this year. When dropping off your child(ren), pull forward to the second entrance. All students will report to the gym or library from that entrance. Student pick-up will be at that same entrance.

Please keep in mind that classroom  instruction does not end until 3:00. Check-outs before 3:00 must be excused.

If your child is in 4th-8th grade, you can easily keep up with his/her progress by checking Engrade. If you are not familiar with the program, you can ask your child’s teacher about it.

Picture day is August 21. Individual AND group pictures will be made. Fall sports pictures will also be made that day.

Our After-School program is available to any K-8th graders. If you did not receive a green application, send a note to your child’s teacher or stop by the office and get one. Children should be picked up from After School by 5:00 PM. Please make sure your child knows what his/her after school plans are each day. This will eliminate afternoon phone calls.

Thank you to churches, businesses, and organizations for donations of school supplies.  They are needed and appreciated.
